A.M.E.N.A Foundation is a not-for-profit and non-political organization devoted
to helping the poor families rise out of poverty by providing specialized Shari’ah
based financing services, Health & Education Program, Housing Improvement and Water
& Sanitation Program in order to improve the quality of life in the most cost-effective
and sustainable manner.
A.M.E.N.A Foundation has made its commitment to three sectors. The first
is a commitment to the marginalized poor sector for which the Foundation is organized
and exists. The second commitment is to the staff members who are dedicated to the
Foundation’s mission. It is also committed to making its founder’s and patron’s
vision a reality. To these ends, it shall;
- Deliver the Shari’ah Financing program like Murabaha,
Ijara and Qard al Hasan to the poor through the enterprising women of the family,
Health and Education program, Housing Improvement and Water & Sanitation Program.
- Create the best place to work in, where every staff member
has the chance to live in dignity, develop a career path and have the fulfillment
of changing lives of the poor and their own as well.
- Be self-sustained and be the best managed Shari’ah
Financing institution in Bangladesh.
A.M.E.N.A Foundation will perform its activities, to the best of its efforts
and abilities, in the interest of the mass people regardless of race, religion,
color and ethnicity. To achieve the mission this foundation shall have the following
objectives:
- Provide financial and capital support to the micro-enterprises for both self-employment
and employment generation, and provide support on economic literacy and building
micro-savings of the poor in order to raise their own capital for the poverty alleviation
of the nation.
- To carry out humanitarian or charitable programs, distribution of relief and rehabilitation
activities for the poor population in the event of natural and or man-made calamities
or disaster.
- Undertake programs and activities for environmental protection, conservation of
forest and reforestation, improper and excessive use of pesticides and other industrial
wastes for protection of environment and improvement of quality of life of the people
and good health for all.
- To provide education and training on capacity building to small and micro entrepreneurs
to increase their business management and technical skills and efficiency, and to
provide technical and vocational education and training (TVET) to individuals for
entrepreneurship, inculcating a culture of entrepreneurial spirit to create jobs.
- To provide green energy programs by implementing Solar Home System (SHS) to poor
households for the protection of the environment.
- To build up community awareness on health care, social health education, the bad
effect of smoking, rampant use of drugs and narcotics, indiscriminate garbage disposal,
adverse effects of excessive use of toiletries and cosmetics.
- To build up mass awareness on child labor, child trafficking, women trafficking,
child marriage, anti-dowry, violence or oppression against women, and undertake
women empowerment programs. Provide legal counseling and support to those oppressed
individuals and their families.
- To increase awareness of pregnant women about the dangers of delivery at home and
undertake activities to increase the number of safe deliveries, develop mother and
child care centers in order to reduce infant mortality.
